Terms of use

The rules for using this site and the information on it.

Using this site

Canada Corporation Registry is free to use for looking up corporations and the public records about them. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What the information is

Everything here comes from public sources, as their publishers release it (about the data). It can be out of date, incomplete or wrong, and a record matched from another source can, rarely, be on the wrong company. This site is not the official register, and nothing on it is legal, tax or financial advice. Before you rely on a fact, check the official record; for a closing or a bank, a certificate of compliance from Corporations Canada is the proof to use.

What you may not do

  • Copy the site or its database in bulk with scripts, scrapers or other automated tools. The open data is free from its publishers: please take it from them.
  • Use the names or addresses of people found here to market to them, to harass them, or to build profiles of people.
  • Try to break, overload or get around the site's protections.
  • Present this site, or anything taken from it, as a government service or an official record.

Reusing the information

The public data stays under its publisher's licence, listed on about the data; reuse it under that licence, ideally from the source. Quebec's register is shared for non-commercial use only. The site's own writing, guides and design belong to Canada Corporation Registry: ask before you copy them.

No guarantee

The site and its information are provided as they are, without any promise that they are accurate, complete or current, or that the site will always be available or free of errors.

Limit of responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on its information.

Corrections

If something is wrong, tell us and we will look at it within 30 days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
